Successful laparoscopic common bile duct exploration in a patient with previous Billroth II gastrectomy

چکیده
Previous Gastrectomy can lead to an increased incidence of cholecystocholedocholithiasis and increased morbidity requiring surgery. For the reason of reconstruction of digestive tract (especially in patients with previous Billroth II gastrectomy or total gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y esophagojejunostomy), Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) tend to be difficult to be performed. Alternatively, with the advance of laparoscopic techniques, laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) has been attempted in patients with a history of gastrectomy. We performed LCBDE successfully in a patient with previous Billroth II gastrectomy in March 23rd, 2016 and reported our treatment experience.

Recurrent Choledocholethiasis After Billroth II Gastrectomy: A Combined Endoscopic-Laparoscopic Technique
Background and Objective: After gastrectomy, the incidence of cholelithiasis formation increases. However, as a result of adhesions and reversed anatomy, either the surgery or the endoscopy is technically difficult. The aim of this article was to evaluate whether a combined endoscopic-laparoscopic “rendezvous” technique is effective in eliminating choledocholithiasis after Billroth II gastrecto...

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS Data on double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE)-assisted endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatogrphy (ERCP) in patients with Billroth II gastrectomy and the use of endoscopic papillary large-balloon dilation (EPLBD) for the removal of common bile duct stones in Billroth II anatomy are limited. The aims of the study were to evaluate the success of DBE-assisted ERCP in patien...
متن کاملEfficacy and Safety of Endoscopic Papillary Balloon Dilation Using Cap-Fitted Forward-Viewing Endoscope in Patients Who Underwent Billroth II Gastrectomy
BACKGROUND/AIMS Endoscopic exploration of the common bile duct (CBD) is difficult and dangerous in patients with Billroth II gastrectomy (B-II). Endoscopic papillary balloon dilation (EPBD) via a cap-fitted forward-viewing endoscope has been reported to be an effective and safe procedure. We analyzed the technical success and complications of EPBD in patients who underwent B-II. METHODS Thirt...
متن کاملPercutaneous transhepatic papilla balloon dilatation combined with a percutaneous transcystic approach for removing concurrent gallbladder stone and common bile duct stone in a patient with billroth II gastrectomy and acute cholecystitis
BACKGROUND A 61-year-old man presented with upper abdominal pain and jaundice. Abdominal computed tomography imaging revealed stones in the gallbladder and the common bile duct, with a thickening of the gallbladder wall and an obvious increase in the volume of the gallbladder. Initial treatment using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography failed due to the presence of surgically altered...
متن کاملBiliary duct-to-duct anastomosis using magnets in a Billroth II gastrectomy patient.
The usefulness of magnetic compression anastomosis (MCA) for biliary duct-toduct anastomosis had been reported in patients with normal anatomy or after liver transplantation [1–4]. Here we report a case of successful MCA for biliary ductto-duct anastomosis, carried out in a 65year-old woman who underwent Billroth II gastrectomy for pyloric stenosis at the age of 17 years. Regarding the patient’...
